Hello there! Did you know that on this very day 140 years ago on 7 March in 1876, Alexandra Graham Bell patented the telephone?

Fast forward to the present, the way we communicate has certainly come a long way and now sharing information, ideas and opinions is (literally) virtually seamless with so many varied and instantaneous forms and mediums.

And today, 7 March 2016, we at HeadStart are super excited to now have a fast and far reaching way to share our thoughts, opinions and beliefs as we launch our new blog “Beyond Therapy!”

Just a bit about HeadStart for Life Pte Ltd… just in case you happen to (fortuitously) stumble upon our blog. HeadStart is a paediatric intervention centre that has been providing clinical services in Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Skills Training, Play Therapy and Educational programmes for children with special needs. And in the weeks to follow, we will discuss interesting topics relating to: Play, Sensory Integration, Art, Reading, Behaviour, Articulation, Social Skills before coming back to Myths vs Facts 2. So stay tuned to all these great topics!

The contributors to Beyond Therapy will be none other than our experienced and passionate team of Therapists and Teachers. Also look out for periodic special guest contributions from esteemed individuals!

We often get into great discussions both internally in the office and externally, so Beyond Therapy was created as a resource and channel to share what we hope might be of help and/or interest to all of you as parents, caregivers, co-workers and industry peers. And this is a 2 way street so we would love to hear back so do leave your comments and we can continue the great conversations!

But don’t just stop there, tell your friends and loved ones about this blog! We hope that they will also find our posts of interest. Helping children is everyone’s business, not just ours per se! The more informed we all are as well as the earlier intervention begins, the better it is for our children!
